    Project Highlights

The Sentosa Sustainability Project was a collaborative initiative with a strong emphasis on sustainable design, creative reuse, and eco-conscious public installation. As part of Sentosa Development Corporation's broader push toward becoming a carbon-neutral destination, OneMakerGroup contributed through a design approach grounded in environmental responsibility and practical innovation.

    • Material Repurposing for Sustainability:
Decorative materials such as red, blue, and gold Christmas ornaments were carefully sorted and repurposed from previous displays—minimizing waste and breathing new life into festive elements. This reuse strategy not only reduced the carbon footprint but also emphasized circular design principles.
    • Efficient Preparation & Sorting System:
All decorative elements were methodically organized into categorized storage (i.e. by color and size), using canvas and trash bags for streamlined deployment. This systematic approach enabled smoother site setup and reduced time on-site during installation.
    • Site-Specific Structural Planning:
Three distinct public areas (Areas A, B, and C) were surveyed, measured, and mapped in detail. Spatial constraints, public flow, and integration with existing infrastructure were carefully considered to ensure each installation would fit seamlessly within its designated location.
    • Augmented Reality (AR) Simulations:
AR was employed to simulate the placement and scale of structures on-site before physical installation. This technology-aided planning allowed for better visualization, stakeholder alignment, and quick iterative refinements without material waste.
    • Accurate Dimensional Mapping:
Each site area was documented with precise measurements—accounting for height, depth, and additional spacing near trees, benches, and walkways. These measurements informed the final design dimensions and ensured public safety and accessibility compliance.
    • Modular and Scalable Design Approach:
Structures were designed with modularity in mind—allowing for future reconfiguration, expansion, or relocation as needed. This aligns with Sentosa’s vision for long-term sustainable infrastructure that adapts to changing contexts.
